Other notes: Thomas’ parentage is uncertain, but amongst the names of his children’s godparents are Charles Bold,
William Bold, James Bold and Margaret Bold. I do not know for certain that they were his siblings but they may have
been. The marriage of Mary Holland to John Smith at Halsall on 19 December 1808 was witnessed by a Thomas Bold.

Other notes: The census records always suggest that Catharine was born in Aughton, although she was christened at
Lydiate and all of her siblings (where they can be traced) give their own birthplaces as Lydiate.

Other notes: John has not been identified on the census records. His godparents were named as Helen Bold and
Charles Bold. He may be the John Bold from West Derby who died aged 32 and was buried on 26 March 1848 at
St. Swithin, Gillmoss, Liverpool.
